Warranty Policy
Most companies' warranty policies are lengthy, wordy and some even filled with lawyer talk. Many have a long list excluding everything under the sun. And none of our competitors' warranties cover design defects. They only cover manufacturing defects. Well the design engineer can produce defects just like the production operator. The RIMO warranty policy covers ALL 100% OF parts when there is a design or manufacturing defect. With RIMO no parts are excluded from your warranty. And the warranty is 12 months or one full year for all parts.
Warranty Straight Talk: The RIMO Performance warranty policy is very simple. If a product has a manufacturing or design defect that causes a product to have a functional problem or failure, RIMO will replace or repair the item.
One Year Warranty for ATVs, Buggies, Go-Karts, UTVs and other Complete Vehicles: All vehicles that we sell are covered by a One Year RIMO Warranty against failure caused by a manufacturing or design defect. This one year warranty includes engines and all parts and includes labor. In order for us to cover labor you must deliver the vehicle to our facility and pick up from our facility. If you are unable to deliver to us we do not cover labor for someone else to do the work but we will send you the replacement parts.
If you are unable to deliver your vehicle to us our technicians will step you or your mechanic through the trouble shooting, repair or parts replacement. If you are not a mechanical person and do not have the tools to do warranty or repair work then most people have friends or neighbors who can help them. We have many customers who place an ad of Facebook or Craigslist to have someone come to their house to do the repair. Most people can find mechanically inclined people who will come to their house for $20 to $30 per hour and most problems can be fixed in one or two hours. Another option is to take your vehicle to a local small engine repair shop. The above is a very workable system and there are millions of people with vehicles who do the work themselves or have a friend do it or they find someone to do the work--and they buy vehicle after vehicle and are very happy with this system.
We have had customers with a warranty problem say, "come pick this vehicle up, its new and stopped running". We are all adults. You are purchasing a vehicle at a discounted price from RIMO in Virginia, as opposed to getting from a dealer down the street at a much higher price. Once you place your order we have entered into a contract per the laws of the state of Virginia and the USA. We will up hold our end and we expect our customers to uphold their end. We have parts and life time free tech support. You have agreed to do the labor or get a friend to help you and not to be rude, mean or nasty in the event that there is a warranty issue. Sometime a simple problem may be difficult to figure out over the phone and may take time. So please don't be unreasonable. Please don't say, "come pick this vehicle up." That is not part of our agreement.
WARNING WARNING WARNING--DO NOT GET YOUR VEHICLE SHIPPED BY FREIGHT: If you are ordering a new vehicle we strongly recommend that you get your vehicle assembled and tested by RIMO Carts and delivered to you by one of our employees by truck and car hauler. Our employees know how important your vehicle is to you and are committed to getting to you without damage. We strongly recommend that you do NOT get your vehicle shipped partially assembled in a crate by a trucking company. We do not control the trucking companies and the warehouse workers are out of control damaging products and their is little accountability or recourse. They don't know how important your vehicle is to you and they don't care. Our RIMO warranty does not cover vehicles shipped by crate and trucking company.
The unassembled crated vehicles, when shipped, are well protected with a metal crate. However, as adults we are all aware of the work ethic in the USA and people in freight logistics companies are routinely careless with handling products. There is a high chance perhaps 10 to 20% or so that your vehicle will receive some damage in transit shipped in a crate. If you chose crate by freight you are agreeing to have your product shipped under these conditions knowing there is a reasonable chance there will be damage. These are not RIMO employees and we have no control over these people and companies. In the event that you chose to have your vehicle shipped crated unassembled shipped by an 18 wheeler trucking company then RIMO Carts excepts no responsibility for damage that occurs during transit and this damage is not covered under RIMO warranty. And you are accepting responsibility for any repairs needed from shipping damage. RIMO Carts will work diligently to provide replacement parts for any broken or non useable components.
In regards to assembled vehicles shipped by our employees and a car hauler, RIMO goes to great lengths to ensure that there is no cosmetic damage and you understand that over 99.5% of our assembled vehicles are delivered void of any cosmetic damage to plastics or other non paintable components, however, some small percent of vehicles may have some very minor cosmetic damage. In the unlikely event of minor cosmetic damage of this nature you are agreeing to either repair yourself or live with the product as delivered in exchange for purchasing a greatly discounted product compared to purchasing a Japanese or American made vehicle from a dealer near you. In the unlikely event of a minor cut in a seat you agree to repair with a repair kit that can be purchased for a few dollars via an online search or send the seat to us for us to repair with a patch kit.
Lifetime Warranty on RIMO Carts Heavy Duty Products: The RIMO products that we manufacturer, in our facility in the USA are so good, over engineered and robust that we offer a lifetime warranty. If a part breaks or bends or ceases to function properly, RIMO will repair or replace at any point in the life of your vehicle and this warranty is transferable. You can use this as a sales point when you decide to sell your vehicle. We are still warranting the RIMO brand of parts made by Buggy Depot, the previous producer of the RIMO product line, made 14, 15 and 16 years ago.
If there is an issue with an engine, just box up the engine per our instructions and we will repair and send back to you.
Warranty does not cover any damage caused by negligence on the customer's part such as loose nuts or bolts and continuing to ride the vehicle or dripping gas and continuing to ride or tires waring prematurely and continuing to ride the vehicle. Any damage caused by negligence is not covered under warranty. Example: If a fuel line is defective and the customer continues riding with leaking gasoline and the vehicle catches on fire then only the defective fuel line will be covered.
The RIMO warranty does not cover damage caused by fire, theft, vandalism or natural disaster. To protect your vehicle against fire or theft of natural disaster be sure to get insurance on your vehicle before it arrives. That way it is covered from the moment that it arrives on your property.
Repair Times on Warranty Vehicle Issues: When a customer spends thousands of dollars on a new vehicle he or she wants to be able to get use of that vehicle. RIMO has warranty issues that hinder riding vehicles less than 1% of the time. Most of these issues are fixed in a short period. However, some issues may require an extended period to resolve. RIMO will do its best to keep you riding during this period. You are agreeing that in the unlikely event that you have an issue that takes an extended period, you will work with RIMO and be reasonably patient and will not take actions outside of our agreed to terms and conditions.
Engines Warranty: All engines sold by RIMO Performance are covered by a 12 month (1 year) warranty against manufacturing or design defects. We will first have you work with our technicians to address any issue. If we are unsuccessful we will authorize you to return the engine to us for repair. You are responsible for shipping cost in returning the engine for warranty. Please follow the shipping instructions to avoid damage and to get discounted shipping rates. If we find a defect we will pay the shipping back to you.
You or a shop or another person disassembling or working on your engine or adding parts, without contacting RIMO first, will void your warranty. Running an engine with dirty oil or a dirty or defective air filter or no oil or air filter will void your warranty.
Parts Warranty: All parts sold by RIMO Performance are covered by a 90 day warranty against manufacturing or design defects. Call first to get a return authorization before returning a part. The part must be returned to RIMO Performance and the part will be repaired or replaced. You are responsible for shipping cost in returning the product for warranty.
Electrical Parts. Due to widespread misuse and abuse of electrical parts due to the lack of electrical knowledge by a large percentage of users, and the inability of failure analysis to determine if the customer has misused the product, RIMO offers a very limited warranty on electrical parts. Customers with a track record of purchasing products, from us without significant warranty claims are eligible for warranty on electrical parts.
Normal wear and tear is not covered under any of the warranties above nor is abuse or misuse of the product.
Abusive Behavior will Void Your Warranty and Your Free Tech Support:
We are a very friendly company and we will work with you to solve any problem that you have with your vehicle in accordance with our warranty policy and tech support policies.
- Your warranty will be voided if you begin yelling, name calling, cursing, threatening, raising your voice, becoming sarcastic, being rude or abusive in any way, or you exhibit repeated unreasonableness. You will be given one warning and if you exhibit any of this behavior. After the warning any further abuse and your warranty and tech support will be voided.
- If you will not listen to or follow the direction of the technician your warranty may be voided after the first warning.
- If you are wasting the technicians time by having him repeat the same things over and over rather than taking notes and writing down the information.
Remember these vehicles last for years and decades. We have a long relationship ahead of us with tech support and parts and we want to maintain a good relationship. So lets all be nice.
